Day 3: It pays off !

What a day, you would spend evening after evening writing emails, phone calls, meetings and so on, in order to organize the “Laser Europa Cup”.
And then you get up in the morning very impatient, due to the good weather forecast of the day before and yes, it is blowing from the right direction. Not strong, but the feeling is good.
After a cup of coffee at the club, you go out on the water and start to lay down the course.
Then, we decided to go a bit more down in the valley as the wind would be more constant there.
It was already blowing with 15 knots, but I was sure that it would increase.
All the boats were doing their warm-up, the first capsized laser were already laying around.
And it started to blow, strong steady short waves were building up.
The course is now down, not an easy task with 300 meter ground and the starting procedure has been launched.
Hopfully all the marks stay in position. Tactics, it looks like, the left side is favored but at the weather marked there are some gusts coming from the right side.
In a few minutes we will see what's faster, the left or the right.
Bang…..standards were gone, bang...... Radial too.
We took a look up to the course to the standard fleet which is divided in two groups. One group was heading to the right and the other to the left, pressure on the lefts seems stronger. Bang ….. 4.7 are on the course, too.
We hurried up at the weather mark to see what was going on there, and yes the right side paid. Nice lead for the guys.
Now, this is the reason why it makes sense to spend evening after evening organizing the event. In the meantime we are having some gusts up to almost 30 knots….
Enjoy the pictures…

Stay tuned!
